Want to know what to expect? Are you all about the details? Read on…
Scheduling a Portrait Session: Use the contact form on my website or call me during normal business hours (Mon-Fri) at 832-816-9525. I am available for portrait sessions 7 days a week. Evening and weekend sessions fill up fast so advance planning is recommended. A scheduled appointment is required for all portrait sessions.
Do you need a photographer for a family reunion, birthday party, or special event? Do you need an executive headshot ASAP? Updating workplace pictures on your office website? Contact me for a quote!
Deposit: A $100 deposit is due when the portrait session is booked. The deposit will be credited to your portrait order. While the deposit is non-refundable it can be applied to a future session if a reschedule is necessary. With advance notice, I will be happy to reschedule an appointment if needed, however, no showing for a scheduled portrait session will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Planning Consultation: After an appointment is made and the deposit is paid, we will set up a time to plan the details of your portrait session. This is usually done over the phone or via webcam during a 15-30 conversation. I do a planning consultation for every portrait session so that I can get familiar your personal style, expectations for the portrait session, and help you choose portrait perfect clothing. All these things will help me plan and create a session that is customized for you.
Portrait Sessions: Most portrait sessions are an hour long. High school senior and newborn portrait sessions are the exception and are 1.5+ hours long. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to your session, dressed and ready for portraits. Portrait sessions can be tailored to include different locations and outfit changes.
Ordering: Within 2 weeks of your portrait session I will post your proofs online to a password-protected gallery on my website. You’ll have a 2 week period to place an order online before the gallery expires. Once an order is received and paid in full I start working my Photoshop magic on your portraits. You can expect to have your order completed within 2-4 weeks of payment (wedding albums & other large projects may take longer).
Digital Portraits vs Prints: Really it’s a matter of value vs. quality. I spend the same about of time and care editing both products to perfection. Portrait prints are heirloom quality, printed on archival paper using the best ink and printing technology available. Your family will cherish these portraits for generations to come, why not print them on something worthy of their value? Upon request, for all printed portrait orders I provide a complimentary low-resolution digital file for personal web use so that you can share them to social media like Facebook or Instagram.
Hurdles: Sometimes, in spite of our best planning, we need to reshoot or reschedule a session. If a reschedule is needed because of the weather I will contact you 2 hours before your scheduled appointment time. If you or a family member is sick the day of the session we will reschedule. Newborns and little kids have good days and bad days, just like we do. A reshoot will be recommended for little miss/mr cranky-pants on a case-by-case basis after the parents see the proofs of the first session.
